How do i add third party widgets to free wordpress blogs ?
Hi, i have a free wordpress blog. I have added the widgets that come in the widget section. But how do i add widgets that are from third parties such as clustrmaps? If free wordpress blogs don't allow that, which free blog service allows that ?

Tim answers:
Www.blogace.com and then suggest the widget and it will get added.

Susan asks…
How or where do you add widgets to WordPress blogs?
On wordpress blogs they give you free widgets to add to your site. But i want to add external widgets to my blog and iam not sure how to paste the widget code and where to add it.Do you paste under widgets or headers or in the main body of a post?

Tim answers:
Hi Andy,
It sounds like you are using WordPress.com (the free service), and not the WordPress.org software on a self hosted site.
If this is the case, then the short answer is, you can't do that with a WordPress.com site.
Here is a support page from WordPress.com that explains some of the differences between the two systems:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Look under WordPress.com cons.

How can I get a list of post titles and URL's off my wordpress blogs in a CSV format?
How can I get a list of post titles and URL's off my wordpress blogs in a CSV format?
I tried exporting it but it was in xml, i need a csv of titles and their corresponding URLs in CSV format. I am on wordpress v2.8.

Tim answers:
There isn't an official way, but there are two fairly easy workarounds:
1. Import your xml file into excel (or another spreadsheet app), clean up colums, then export as csv.
2. If you have cPanel, or access to phpMyAdmin, go into your wordpress database, and export the posts table as csv, clean up extra colums. The urls are in the guid column.
Oh - here's something that came to me last night
-- added after quick test --
if you can ftp and edit, unzip/save the file called csv-export.php, then upload that file to your current theme folder. Create a new blog page, use csv-export as the page template (choose template option over on the right in wordpress), then publish and view the page - it will list your posts and titles. Copy and paste list into excel, notepad etc, save as csv..
