Netspend
I just ordered a netspend card. From my understanding, it is a secured credit card (a visa, much like a debit, where your own money is put on the card, but it helps build up your credit.) If you don”t have enough money in your account for your purchase, will it stop at 0 (such as a gift card) or will it overdraw (such as a debit card)? If it will overdraw, how much is the fee?
Update: My father was sick so I needed some quick cash and netspend wasn’t willing to help me out. So I used 100DayLoans. They gave me 1500 dollars that I didn’t need to start paying until after 100 days. Needless to say I also canceled my card to those netspend a**holes and got a Vision Prepaid Visa. Million times better because netspend was a flippin headache.

hi everybody i want to know if anybody has had this problem u see i purchased from 2 websites on the internet and my balance on the account is only 1.75 i only load the card when i need to buy something from the internet now i know there is a 1 dollar fee per transaction and the fees havent been collected as the purchases are pending i want to know if i will be charged an overdraft fee on the account since there wont be enough money to pay the fee on the second purchase i know netspend has the no overdraft thing so what do you guys think i should do should i go waste the 2 dollar fee charged to reload the card and add a dollar? thanx in advance
some how i overdrafted my prepaid debit card on two different occasions… one time my balance said – $4.71 and when i put money back on the card it subtracted it from my account lol. My prepaid card has a bank account and routing number to it and i used it to verify my PayPal account so i’m thinking that might have something to do with it but the company (Mango Money) i use says that i would be declined if i didn’t have the money in the account when i read there webpage. I love the card and the company, they have never charged me for anything but the 5 dollar monthly payment if i didn’t put 500 bucks on it or more and that’s great but i just don’t see how it does that. I mostly use it on the internet and some things take a few days to go through but 99% of the stuff i buy anywhere goes through instantly so iv’e only had a few internet things that haven’t. Anyway i’m just looking for anyone that might have experienced the same thing maybe or knows anything about why it might happen. =D
To the guy whom posted first to my question…………..
first of all that is NOT the answer to my question and it is not even relivant… i didn’t ask for a PayPal opinion, i just ask how my prepaid cards went over. Also i don’t care if they can tell its a prepaid card and i know they don’t accept them but mine has a bank account and routing number that is backed by Inter National Bank so if they detect it which i doubt (its been on there for quite a while now) then ooh well, you can still link a prepaid card just not directly to the account to verify a bank account or add/withdraw funds directly from PayPal. So i’d appricate it if someone could answer my actual question. TYVM.
well i went on netspend.com and ordered one of there prepaid credit cards and it will get here in 10 days and the card is free they ship it to you for free you dont have to buy the card aand they said on the website that there are no overdraft fees whats that mean ?? and they said on the website there are no interest charges but when i go to the store like vons to put money on the card it cost me like 5 bucks everytime i want to load the card, is that normal for a pre paid credit card ?and my last question is if the netwpend company just sends you a card for free and they dont charge any interest or anything how does the company make money ?? just curious
I have overdraft protection but am already in the negative will I be able to make another purchase under$10? My direc deposit from my employer comes tomorrow @ 5pm so they will get there money back. Please help no rude answers please thanks
“The US government gives basically carte blanche to the financial sector. Consider it, we the people bailed them out and exactly what did they do as a thank you? They raised interest and fees connected with banking. The government allows them to do things like placed the withdrawals prior to down payments, setting people around become overdrawn and before it was just one bounced check fee, now it is the cost plus everyday costs. And they make use of as a basis for interest and loan things, that credit report, which is only a conspirator with the banking industry as it is completely not fix in their data. But the worse your score is, the even more the bank can charge you. So, they enable everyone and their dog to put negative entries on your report, appropriate or not. But try removing this entry. It wont take place. These are only a couple of things, but in the end, the government permits them to screw us.”.
Then what are we expect to do as citizens to stop this?

I have a secured credit card with a security deposit. I want to know if it is safe from being seized by a judgment. I know a regular savings account is not.
I want to increase the limit 1000 dollars a month but I am trying to find a secured credit card that will allow me to continue to add money. I’ve paid the only thing that was negative on my credit report. I’m 29 years old
So a secured credit card gives me a credit line that is covered by my initial deposit . So it makes no sense to ask for proof of income since there is no risk from the banks side of the applicant not being able to pay since its already covered in advance. So why is it such an issue for the bank to get a proof of income?
Note: I’m a student , no current job , no credit history , need to build credit fast , have a source of income which is not a job.

I have pretty poor credit and I can’t get a credit card.
I want a secured credit card similar to the ones in the US where you leave a deposit with the lender and that becomes your credit limit and in addition, the lender needs to report my payment history to a credit reference agency.
This is NOT the same as a prepay card where you reload it once you spend it as that it useless to me and does nothing for your credit rating.
Card MUST be UK-issued or reportable to UK credit reference agencies.
I would like a secure credit card that has very few fees.
I wish to start constructing credit, however I’m unsure the best ways to begin. People inform me to obtain a secured credit card, so I was wondering what are some good ones that I could look into.
My husband has applied for a secured credit card. Can anyone tell me how long will it take to send in and get back? Please note that the application will need to be mailed off. No other options. I was told by Orchard bank 12-14 days, and then told by Housholdbank 30-45 days. They are both the same cards from HSBC. Thanks to all that help!!

A friend of mine is attempting to rebuild her credit after a divorce. She is getting a secured credit card. Apparently, they are like a pre-paid Visa/Mastercard? However, they have an insanely high interest rate. Anyway, she told me that even though it is “prepaid” they still have to do a credit check. Unfortunately, her credit is ruined. Could she possibly be denied for a prepaid card? I haven’t heard of this and am not sure. Any ideas? She is somewhat hesitant to apply to several secured companies in case she gets denied, but she does need a card for emergencies.
She was denied through her credit union and they don’t offer secured cards or even student cards there.
Applied for a Washington Mutual secured credit card and found that the $500 deposit was withdrawn from my checking account. Where did that money go (can’t find any other record of it) and when do I get the refund?

Has anyone used Turbo Tax for their federal refund and had it put on the Netspend debit card?? I was just wondering how quick it comes back?? I am supposed to be receiving it late next week and just got an email alert telling me that my return has been deposited to the card so I was kind of hoping that I might receive it before the time frame that they gave me. Any answers are appreciated, thanks!!
Trying to rebuild my credit and looking for a secured credit card to help me rebuild my credit. Any suggestions or referrals?
Are secured credit cards a good choice for people with bad credit? Where can I get a secured credit card online?
I’m looking for ways to build credit, I don’t have any established credit at all. I bank with Wells Fargo and was thinking about maybe getting a secured credit card with them. Are there any downfalls to doing this? I honestly don’t understand exactly how it works so if you have any experience or information on this please share it with me. I was also wondering if I could maybe get a card with a store such as Victoria’s Secret, or will they not give me one because of my lack of credit?
